HOW MUCH DOES THE AVERAGE VIDEO COST?

At ALOC Media, the average cost per video is around 5,000. Our videos cost about 5k because the allows us to offers our team the ability to produce at the professional level you deserve and we take pride in.

As the demand for video content rises, technology is reducing the cost per video. The base model iPhone now comes with an impressive video camera. Affordable apps like CapCut and Premiere Rush are built with amazing post-production capabilities. All because social media is turning everyone into a videographer.

The catch is that you need to share more videos more often. Brands and businesses are looking for ways to reuse, re-edit and repurpose to stretch the same content as far as possible. So even though one-off video costs may be falling, the total budget is staying about the same.

WHAT’s THE ACTUAL COST OF PRODUCTION?

As we say at the negotiating table, the total cost per video depends. It depends on the project scope, the number of deliverables, production requirements, post-production requirements, revisions, re-edits, and more. But here, right now, we will be frank. Our average production cost per project is right around $5,000 and most of our clients receive more than one final video per project.

At our average rate, we can deliver professional content created from the entirety of our team’s skillset using top-of-the-line equipment and resources. This cost allows us to budget time for creative planning, a few days of production, a few more in post, and only then can we deliver our best work that meets or exceeds your marketing needs.

HOW LOW WILL WE GO?

On rare occasions we can go below $2,000 for a single video without jeopardizing impact. This rate is typically reserved for long-term clients (here are a few more benefits to retainers). The advantage of being a repeat client is that we can cut video costs by using content that we previously captured.

In our experience, competing for projects only ends in a race to the bottom and our production costs are already on the low end of the market. When the budget is so constricted that we don’t have the room for creative thought and time to put that extra sizzle into every video, we are not able to deliver at the same level that we take pride in.

WHAT IF YOU HAVE A BUDGET CONSTRAINT?

The nature of video production is creative. And like all creative pursuits, there are possibilities within constraints. Depending on the specs of the project, there may be viable options for production within a given budget. More often than not, the parts of the project that incur the highest costs are the ones that are required in order to deliver according to your needs. Our philosophy is to prioritize deliverables instead of jeopardizing quality if the actual costs of production starts to exceed the available project budget.

DON’T FORGET ABOUT Distribution CostS

As much as we focus on ROI, our limits extend to creative messaging and professional presentation. The true success of a video is determined by how, when, and where the content is distributed. This is marketing, and we can’t make any promises beyond the quality of our work. It’s up to you to allocate additional resources to your ad budget (if we are making an ad video). Sometimes this means spending more money on the distribution of the video than the actual costs of production.

This article is meant to offer insights into our average cost per video project as it relates to our standard packaging. Of course, not every video or project costs $5,000. If you want to know more about production costs as they relate to your next video project, feel free to schedule a time to meet with one of our producers.
